Adron Turner on his Ford Tractor, at his Portales, NM farm. Circa 1947. He retired, after 30 years of ranching at Ramon, NM, and moved to Portales. His "hobby" framing kept us busy. It was a great opportunity for me to get some experience at tractor driving, irrigation, cattle branding, windmill repair and fence building, He purchased several pieces of property around Portales. He liked to improve the property and sell it. On two farms, he took advantage of government programs, which assisted farmers in installing underground irrigation systems.
