At least she hasn't lost her sense of humor. Merry Christmas Darla R

So good you stilll have your sense of humor! We're with you in spirit!
Love, us Randy P

Good I am not there! At the sound of a tiny gag I'm gone. We'd probably kill each other trying to get out the door. How high is JaNell's pain tolerance! You might have to go buy a bullet!
We had a great Christmas with Mike, L

Sorry... I am still a stranger in this tech land. Our Christmas was with Lisa's entire family. It was great but glad to be home in the silence. Lots of snow in Artesia. Last time they got so much snow was when Mike n Lisa got married.
Hope y'all sleep well tonight.
Prayers,
Nancy W

My money is on an obstruction. Remember, I had 3 months of nursing school. I suppose she has lost many pounds. Not my idea of the ideal diet!!!!! I can picture her sucking on a wash cloth. If we don't laugh we will cry NancyW

JaNell Surgery Report 2011.12.26

Hello All,

JaNell had a good day today, her best day yet. It was one-step forward and no-step back. She walked on four occasions for a total of seven laps around the pod. Nausea was minimal with no throwing up. She took a wheelchair ride out side and stayed about fifteen minutes. There was no NG tube today, no food and a limited amount of chipped ice.

Our next-door neighbors at Hope Village, Tambra and James, came by today for a visit. We joined hands and Tambra said a very powerful and sweet prayer for JaNell and me. She is at Mayo taking chemotherapy treatments. Jim is a civil engineer that works for the California highway department. They have been at Hope Village for five months.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers,

Terry

Just the news we have been waiting to hear. The more JaNell moves the more she will be pain free and require less of the drugs that are causing the GI tract to sleep. I hope she is encouraged by her good day. Also the more she moves the better she will rest at night. There is nothing better for recovery than for the body to do the normal functions of movement, etc. Leann had a patient, Nellie, that didn't want to get out of bed and after several days of resistance, Leann said if you don't get out of bed we will have to start calling you Smelly Nellie. Fortunately, Nellie had a sense of humor and responded. Physical therapists have to do a lot of coaxing with good humor. Leann is good at doing this for her patients.
Thanks so much for the reports.

Terry-- this is great news. Congratulations.

Lawson.

Terry and JaNell: So glad to hear that JaNell is having better days.

Sorry we haven't been in touch. We went to Nashville for Christmas and returned on 25th then started packing to leave for Longview tomorrow for my Sister's 80th birthday. My Sister had surgery using the DeVinci method at Baylor Hospital in Dallas on Dec 1. We know there is a malignancy but don't know the extent and what the follow up will be--probably know today.

We will be thinking of you both as well as the rest of your family and will be back in touch after we get back on Jan 3rd.

Betty P

Love hearing good news! Hug JaNell for me...and tell her it's from me, not YOU!

Love you,
ME
