A cellar behind Grandma Turner's house housed the batteries for the ranch electrical system. A wind charger charged the batteries. The batteries were large, open top, acid filled glass jars, which were lined up on a shelf in the cellar. Aunt Lizzie used the battery jars to store milk, after their usefulness as a battery was over. |
