OBITUARY for LaNell Price

 

LaNell Price, 91, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, March 08, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  She was born January 8,1916 in Penelope, Texas.

Preceding LaNell in death were her husband O. A. (Olvin) Price, parents Bruce and Mary Downer, brother Burt Downer, sister Pauline Brooks, sister Pearl Price, son-in-law Carl Natho, and grandson Jay Cook Price of Aztec.

Two children survive LaNell – Patsy Natho of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Joe N. Price and wife Earlene of Aztec.  Four grandchildren also survive: David Natho of San Antonio, TX; Amy Natho of Chicago, IL; Jon Price of Albuquerque, and Jana Price Siverts of Rio Rancho.  She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

 For years, LaNell worked at J. A. May Jewelers and San Juan Hospital in Farmington.   She and Olvin established the Valley Lumber Company in Kirtland, and later they owned and operated the Kiva Trading Post in Aztec.  LaNell has lived in Hot Springs Village for the past nine years.

LaNell and Olvin were active in the square dance community until they left the area.  LaNell also loved to read and study; she was a crossword puzzle fan, and a collector of Southwestern artifacts. 

A memorial service will be held at the Village United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village where she was a member. A memorial service will be held in Aztec at a later date.  Interment will be at the Aztec Community Cemetery.
