| Adrienne ~ The Rock House ~ Johnie washed clothes in the little rock house in a Maytag washer that was equipped with a gasoline engine. A Wood stove in the corner of the house was used to heat water for washing. She used a broom handle to fish the clothes out of the hot water in the washer, and run them through the wringer. Mom warned us about the dangers of the wringer. Our biggest horror was getting our arm caught in the wringer. There was a basement under the North end of The Rock House. |
